Testbed Businesses Wanted

Jul 6, 2011

Kirklees Council is working on a new pilot with Yorkshire & Humberside Apprenticeship Training Agency (YHATA) to support local people onto customer service apprenticeships and into employment.  The YHATA will employ apprentices and offer in-work support and we need local employers who might want to host an apprentice

For the first 6 months the apprentices have carried out their apprenticeship within Kirklees Council and increased their work readiness. They have signed-up for and have part completed their Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship which is being delivered by Kirklees College.

We now wish to move them onto an apprenticeship place with a local business so that they can complete their apprenticeship framework which will take a further 6 months in total to complete and experience a different working environment.

Our first four apprentices are coming up to the time when we wish to transfer them to the private or voluntary sector so, if you are a Kirklees Business who might be interested in finding out more please contact Sue Weston on 01484 221547 or email skills@kirklees.gov.uk.
